Free Marketing and The Format to Success

Do you want to promote your business for free and give you the best possible chance of getting your business, product or service in front of the eyes of your customers? If so this article looks at how your press release should be presented to the media to ensure it:

1. Gets read
2. Gets acted upon
3. Doesn’t end up in the bin

The Format to Success and in particular how your press release should actually be presented to the media will give the best possible chance of success. You therefore need to focus on:

1. The Headline - you have to remember that the purpose of the headline is to get the journalists attention and to get them to read the remainder of the press release. The content of your press release may contain fantastic newsworthy information but unless the headline is strong it may never get read.
2. The First Few Paragraphs - journalists tend to like short paragraphs that grab their attention so the last thing you want to do is follow a killer headline with a block of text that they have to trawl through to find what you’re trying to say. The first few paragraphs should therefore focus on generating an interest in what you’re saying.
3. The Middle - journalists love facts and figures as they add real credibility to a release. Once you’ve therefore got their attention with the headline and first few paragraphs you should use the middle section to include any relevant facts and figures that will back up your release.
4. A Quote - a short quote from someone with something to say about the release (it could be you) is always a good idea. A quote gives journalists the chance to put it straight in the publication should they wish to. And providing it’s an interesting (or controversial) quote it shows them that if they want to contact you you’re likely to have something interesting and newsworthy to say. On this point the quote shouldn’t be too long. Just enough to maintain their interest and if possible leave them wanting more.
5. The End - The close of a press release is one of the most important parts but so many people end weakly and therefore miss out on coverage. The close has to include a clear, bold call to action. You have to tell the journalist who they need to contact and exactly how they can get in touch with you. Using something like “If you would like any further information please do not hesitate in contacting me” will not work whereas “To arrange an interview or for further information regarding (subject of release) contact XXXX at e-mail XXXX@email.com or call XXXXXX on 0191 XXXXXXX.

Other useful information on the format of a press release:

a. NEVER SUBMIT A PRESS RELEASE IN ALL UPPER CASE LETTERS. Some people believe it works as surely upper case means it’s important. WRONG!!! It isn’t easy on the eye and therefore it won’t get read. Use mixed case.

b. Spell check - I’ve mentioned this before but errors in grammar and spelling affect your credibility and potentially risk your release not being acted upon.

c. Length - Whether you believe it or not, size is important! If possible get your press release on one page (two at the most). Journalists don’t have time to read war and peace. That said if your press release doesn’t have more than one or two sentences, then the chances are it isn’t newsworthy.

d. Check it again - your press release is a chance to get exposure for your business so you want to make the right impression. Therefore write it, proof read it, get someone else to check it as well, rewrite it if necessary and make sure it says exactly what you want (and much more importantly, it says something of interest).

Other than in the work place how could there possibly be equality between males and females?

Men are as different from women as guns are to roses. South American Indians believe that the soul of a woman comes from the moon, and the soul of a man comes from the soil. The more research I did for this article, the more I realized that truer words were never spoken. My best friend, who happens to be male, believes that women are superior beings in every way. He says women are more intelligent, wiser, kinder, and capable of solving problems without the use of violence.

Most males are driven to dominate, and settle disagreements with force. Case in point: Everyone will agree that men have ruled the world for thousands of years. Let us take a look at the male dominated society in the United States over the past 25 years. In this country alone there have been 4 wars, approximately 416, 450 murders, and 2,927,750 rapes. Since 1997 there have been 7 school shootings where 34 students were murdered and 72 wounded, and in every case the shooter was a male. Women commit less then 2 % of all murders, and other than five female schoolteachers, who had sex with younger males, men committed the two million plus rapes.

Parents and society play a role in a child’s life, but a great deal comes from gender differences. Of course not all children are alike, but in general most males tend to be the aggressor. From the time a male is two years old he begins to physically compete with other children. By age fourteen a male battles on the athletic field, and strives for female attention. At age sixteen a male thinks about sex twenty-seven times a day, and becomes aggressive when challenged. By age thirty, sex continues to dominate the male mind, but he also begins to compete with his brothers for work related positions, and monetary gains. By age forty, those who are going to settle down are usually married, and those who remain unmarried normally end up with some type of psychological problem. Between the ages of sixty to death sex is still an issue with most males, but as they mature they tend to find contentment with their buddies on the golf course or in other physical endeavors.

In contrast, a two-year old female begins her quest to make friends, and to nurture her baby dolls. By the age of fourteen, a female competes with other females for physical perfection, and boyfriends. At age eighteen, most females maintain their desire for love, and they gallantly search for someone to fulfill their dream of a home and children. By the age of thirty most females mature after the birth of their first child, and continue this process until death. By age thirty-five half of the female population are divorced and struggling to raise their children, still with the hope of finding Mr. Right.

In most cases females react differently in confrontational situations. If jealous, hurt, or disappointed, they normally turn their pain inward. However, some become verbally abusive, gossips, and social troublemakers, but they are rarely violent. By age forty over half the divorced women are still single, and have settled for a career. Between the ages of sixty to death, most females are content caring for their grandchildren and pets.

Of course these facts are based upon general equations between the two genders. To clarify the question regarding equality, the answer lies in the condition of the world today. Besides, it is virtually impossible to compare poodles to pit bulls?

How Long Does Liposuction Recovery Take?

If you were to drive someone home from liposuction surgery, you might look at them and wonder what they went through the procedure for in the first place. This is because initially the results of liposuction aren’t very pretty. It can lead a person to wonder just how long it takes to recover from liposuction.

Out of the Office

After the initial recovery from anesthesia, patients are usually free to get up and walk around. If their liposuction procedure was performed using local anesthesia, they are often released in as little as thirty minutes. General anesthesia, due to higher risks, means that the patient has to stay longer so the doctor can be certain they have suffered no ill effects from the drugs. When they go home, the patient often still has bruising, swelling, drainage, and is likely to be wearing a compression garment.

Bruising

While some patients do not exhibit bruising after liposuction surgery, they are rare exceptions. Bruising is extremely common and should be expected. However, the bruises usually begin fading immediately and some patients report them being completely gone in as little as two days. For others, however, they can last up to two or three weeks.

Draining

How long the draining from liposuction lasts is a bit more specific. The draining is most severe for the first day, and begins to decrease in amount after that. Usually by three days after surgery, drainage has stopped. This, however, can vary based on whether the incisions are left open or are sutured shut. Since it is easier for the body to drain the excess fluid than it is to absorb it, most surgeons do not stitch the incisions, as leaving them open seems to promote quicker healing.

By the time the drainage from liposuction has ceased, your body is most likely ready to resume the majority of its normal activities. Even though strenuous exercise or work wouldn’t be recommended so soon, most patients are able to return to work or school and participate in low-impact exercise routines.

Swelling

While many parts of the recovery are quick, how long the swelling from liposuction lasts is a completely different question. There is usually a significant decrease in swelling once the drainage is done. However, the swelling is not gone and it will keep decreasing at a rapid rate for the first month or so. After about eight weeks, the majority of the swelling is usually gone and patients can see a shadow of their results. The final outcome from liposuction may not be truly visible for several months though.

It should be obvious from the length of time it takes to recover from liposuction that the surgery is not the quick and easy answer a lot of people are looking for. While recovery time varies slightly from person to person, before going in to have a surgery performed, one should look realistically at the average length of time to recover from a liposuction procedure. There is no way to accurately predict if your recovery will be faster or slower. Therefore, it would be wise to think of the average recovery time more as a minimum. That way, even if you recover from liposuction more slowly, at least you were prepared to do so.

Landlord Doesn’t Understand That The Tenant Is The Leasee Not The Slave!

I`ve mentioned in the past about dealing with landlords and tenants many times. It`s our opinion that when a tenant rents a home from a landlord their entitled to live in a home without being harassed providing that they observe the “rules and regulations” of the community, and properly maintain the home.

The landlord in turn leaves the tenant alone, doesn`t spy on the tenant,nor harass the tenant in anyway. After all the FAR “Lease Agreement” clearly specifies what can and can`t be done. We have a situation where the “Landlord” has a habit of calling the police on their tenants, they feel that a tenant pays them rent and than becomes a SLAVE to the landlord!

This is the case we`re involved in and it`s not pretty. The landlord has called the police on our tenant 4times in 6 days. They complained about the tenants “Moving Truck” and Boat which is allowed in this community. They don`t want the tenant to hang a picture on their walls, nor allow 3 cars to be parked in a driveway that holds 6 cars!

Their neighbors know all about “The Insanity” of the landlord and told me that they`ve run out 3 tenants in 18 months.

We`re upset because this should have been disclosed, but there aren`t any laws protecting people from Wackos~.

The letter below has been sent to the landlord.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. XXX,

This letter is to notify you that Mr. B. XXX is reporting that since he moved into your home he has been the victim of harassment demonstrated by you the landlord. As you`re aware the lease commenced on May,15TH 2007. It is our opinion that you are attempting to have Mr. XXX vacate the home and break the lease agreement that was signed on April 27Th 2007.

The Landlord/Tenant act clearly doesn`t allow for a landlord to harass a tenant in a manner that is personally insulting and clearly vindictive in nature because you have issues with his personal vehicles and boat. Upon further inquiries from your neighbors we have reason to believe that this isn`t you`re first time “Harassing” your tenants. The overall opinion by your neighbors indicate that you have in fact “Chased Away” previous tenants.

This is a form of discrimination!

The events are as follows:

1-On 5-31-07 at 10:13 PM. Mr. XXX received a knock on his door from Broward County Sheriffs Officer Y. XXX .The complaint was was in regards to Mr. XXX “Moving Truck” which was parked in the driveway. The Officer noted that the vehicle was in fact “Not in the driveway” and left the scene.

2- On 06-03-2007 at 9:34 PM.Mr.XXX again received a complaint from officer C.XXX claiming that there was a “Trailer parked” in the driveway. Officer XX noted that on his report and left Mr.XXX home without further incident.

3- On 06-05-2007 at 2:29AM a Broward County Sheriff left a “Warning Ticket” on the vehicle that belongs to Mr. XXX son. The ticket once again was in regards to the “trailer” that Mr. XXX was using for moving into the home.

4- On 06-09-2007 at 10:30PM. Another Broward County Sheriff arrived at the home claiming ” That a Boat” owned by Mr. XXX was in the driveway. The code enforcement in Cooper City allows for boats to be parked for a 24 hour period of time,the boat was parked for only 12 hours.There were no complaints from the immediate neighbors. It is noted that your neighbor across the street owns a boat as well and there wasn`t a complaint issued to this person on that day from code enforcement.

5- On 06-10-2007 at 12:00 PM a Cooper City Code enforcement officer arrived at the home to observe the boat. He noted that there wasn`t any rules or laws broken.

At this point Mr. XXX has placed his rent in an escrow account held by Florida List For Less Realty,Inc for rent due for the month of June. Mr. XXX requests that his security deposit of $1900 and moving expenses totaling $2000 be given back to him in order to secure another home. The conduct that you`vie demonstrated to Mr. XXX is unacceptable. It`s clear that you haven`t read the Landlord/Tenant act of the State of Florida and are now in complete violation of his rights as a tenant and as an individual.

You have 5 (five days) to respond to our request for the termination of the lease. It is agreed that by doing so Mr. XXX will not pursue legal action upon you and that you`re allowing Mr. XXX to leave your home without further malice.
